Some employers demand annual and pre-employment medical checkups, and the details are recorded in the employee's file. Any health issues or accidents that occurred during a person's employment could be used as proof in a subsequent compensation claim.

PEME is mandatory to every company without this, the new hire cannot continue to be in the company. Health condition is important. So the company is ensuring that the new hire is capable of doing the job. And also, to ensure that he/she will not cause any problem to other employees aboard.

I remember in 2015, I was already hired but my xray turned out negative results. They found a spot in my lungs. I was hired in February 2015, 2 weeks later, I was kicked off. I applied in March 2015 in another company had my xray again. I passed the medical exam. I even asked another doctor in February that year, showed my xray scan. The doctor told me it was just a suspicion and nothing to worry. Turned out I was not sick when I got my xray the following month.

But yeah, medical exams are important thus imposing it prior employments.

The reason why most companies are demanding these reports is to ascertain the health conditions of their workers before employed. With this, they would be able to know how to deal with health challenges of each workers.

It is a standard practice that companies need their hired employees to submit a health certificate. One thing is for sure, it is one of the requirements of the local government for the companies.
