Why There Are forums that do not pay and still have members? What do the owners get from these websites?

I am not sure if setting up a forum is possible at a low cost but I see some of the admins that don't pay at all and they have active users but I think they are active as they like the company of like-minded people and enjoy their stay on the website but I am still to get an answer that what the owner of the forum gets in return from the forum as I don't expect that frum to have ads.

A while ago, I visited earn.cash.com and I was the only human. @Shavkat told me he refrained from doing activities there for the site and stopped paying members. There are many members there. I am hoping they would wake up from the reality that site is not worth spending time and effort.

How much is your due? I wasn't paid $3 and my referral also didn't get paid and I don't have any nope hope to get paid and I regret the fact that I wasted my time on this website and even wasted time of my referrals on scam website.

I have been on one non-paying site about 10 years now and I've been enjoying it reading and posting on it without getting paid some is because you just enjoy posting on such a site.

The community is what brings people together. Generally older forums and those that are very niche or location based can afford not to pay their users because people stay there just to interact with others.

people join this site to be entertained or get information that what I do on one.non-paying sites I just go there for anything news.

At first having forum used to be free but the idea of paying members is to bring members to the forum and post. So a free forum is the best because they will have all the income to themselves from showing ads and many more

One thing i have come to understand about humans is that they would definitely hang around as long as they have something to benefit form you. I guess these persons are getting one thing or the other form the forum.

people join sites for different reasons it is not always about money. If you want to be entertained or get information from a forum you can join anyone you like to achieve that

I do have plans to join non paying forums if they help us in my learning as we need to keep learning to be able to earn well

Some people create forums in order to earn revenue just like people do with blogs (I am that person), however, some people create forums just as a hobby and they find pleasure in maintaining an active community.

I think one of the main reasons is people have made some virtual friends in the community. They can probably learn new things and share business insights with fellow members.

There are so many forums that are not paid to post but they have huge members because members are gaining from their content.

Though some people join forums to gather more knowledge and work with people of like minds so they don't want to even leave the site but most people join because of the earnings, so some new people on the sites may not know that the site is no longer paying
