Wordpress.com is a blogging platform. It has two versions, the free version will allow you to create a free blog in a wordpress subdomain, and you have limited options for monetization. The paid version will allow you to use a custom domain. The basic plan does not allow monetization, you need a business plan to run ads. Wordpress.org is an open-source content management system that can be used to build any kind of website for free.

Great for blogger since you don't have code anything. Just make articles and post it.
What about monetization?
If have your own hosting and domain you can place ads. There are several plugins for connection with ad networks.
What difference did you find between "wordpress" and "xenforo"?I have always loved WordPress. But Xenforo is the king.
WordPress is more to blog and Xenforo is to forums.
There are no big differences as the functionalities remain the same in both versions.

Xenoforo is basically used for forums, while wordpress can be used for all sorts of websites including and not limited to blogs, forums, online stores, business websites, etc. Xenoforo is also a paid program.I have always loved WordPress. But Xenforo is the king
I would prefer to go for wordpress.com because it allows you to have a full monetization feature.
