Should you be able to choose your own work hours at a business, or should you be given some leway in a schedule that might not be otherwise flexible?

I choose my work schedule in my current company. This is a good way for me to work online. It has been more than 8 years that I am working as a freelancer online.

I have very small business of general items, I chose my own shop timings, in start I open my shop at 9.a.m and close it at 10.p.m, but when I saw that people usually start coming to my shop at 10.00 a.m, then I changed shop timings which is 10.00 a.m to 11.00 p.m.

I am a freelancer. I can choose when and how long I work as long as I meet the deadline of my job. For those working as an employee for a company, if his/her employer offers a flexi working hour policy, s(he) can also choose his/her working hours.

I have a regular offline job and compulsorily we have to work for 9-10 hours a day.

Over here in my country, there a lot of people don't get to decide their working hours because the company where they are working will always determine everything for you. It's the reason why some people prefer to work online so that they will have the power to determine their schedule of work.

Ideally, one should be allowed to choose the time it would be convenient for him or her to work. But most organizations impose your working hours on you.

If you are self employment, you can choose your working hours but if you are employed, you have to adapt to the company's working conditions which one of them is time schedules. Am self employed, I do work at my own time.

I have some freedome creating my schedule. I got part from team manager and some I create my self. I still must be in some limits and corespond with others. If you ask me it is best work from 8.30h - 15h.

There are people that I know that work from 5am to 5pm for a fixed salary. It is because of the high unemployment rate in the country.

I am glad that you can do this. I used to do this before in my previous company. Now, I am working in a new company and follow a fixed working schedule. I think it is fine because I only work from 4:00 PM to midnight. It means I can still do something during the daytime.
