Wober is back! [Rebranded and relaunched as Off Topix]

Greetings,

I have some exciting news, the Wober Discussion Community has been revived! The database has been restored and all member accounts created before August 13th 2015 have been preserved.

The Wober Discussion Community launched almost 13 years ago and it was a thriving community from 2009 until 2016.

After a 6 year hiatus, we’ve rebranded the entire forum and relaunched under a new name, Off Topix!

Check us out at offtopix.com

Movies which change their main theme

Let's talk about movies which ahd one theme in start but later change it.
I will give you two examples.

Fast and Furious - at first those were movies about fast cars. There was some stuff two like heist but main scenes were races, driving car trough town. Later those movies become more about terorist and saving world than about cars. They still drive cars but there is no more races between cars than race between car and tank or airplane.

Jurrasic Park - great movies which change our look at dinosaurus. I would say influence were almost something like Indian Jones. But last movie is complete different. We go human clone, using dinosaurus as weapon, trafficing problems and kidnaps - just with dinousaurus around us. Dinosaurus are not in main role anymore than world problems.

What do you think about this thesis?

Ever had to deal with troublesome staff?

Have you ever had to deal with troublesome staff before? There was one time I mistakenly promoted someone to Admin and they ended up deleting all my themes I had installed on one of my old forums. This was a proboards forum so it wasn't too difficult to get the old themes back, but they installed ones that didn't even match the niche of the forum. I outright banned them from the forum and they went to the support forums asking to be unbanned. This is the only time that's happened to me, so now I know better not look for reliable staff when I need staff.

Info Exchange Policy

Index Forum aims to provide a safe and friendly community for everyone, especially those participating in forum-wide exchanges. The Exchange Policy is for those who are participating in member-to-member exchanges within the forum. This Exchange Policy is in place to inform you of how the overall process works for exchanges and provides you with tools and information on how to deal with a faulty exchange.

Basic Guidelines

When doing an exchange, it is important that you be as transparent and honest as possible.

  • Be honest. If you have a busy schedule and it may take you longer to complete an exchange, let the other party know.
  • Just do it. If you agree to an exchange, do what you have agreed to do.
  • Be on time. If you have agreed to complete an exchange by a specific time, try your best to complete it on time, if you can't refer to the above "Be honest."
  • Don't overdo it. You should only accept a number of exchanges that are acceptable to your schedule. Never take on more than you can handle.
  • Wait to confirm. Before you begin working on an exchange, make sure that the other party understands the agreement and gives an 'ok' to begin.
  • Talk about it. If you have an issue arise with your exchange, communicate with the other party. Work with the other party to find a resolution to the problem.
  • Respect. No matter the situation, make sure that you are being respectful and courteous to the other party. Being rude never helps anyone.
  • Report it. If you can't seem to find a resolution to an ongoing exchange, report it in the dispute section of the forums, and we will help.

Exchange Dispute Information

If you have an ongoing exchange and the other party isn't fulfilling their end of the agreement, let us know. To file an official dispute you can create a thread in the 'Market Disputes' section of the forums (this can be located under "The Market" section of the forums and is used for both exchanges and for the buying and selling of services). The Market Disputes section of the forums is completely anonymous, only IF staff members and yourself can review the dispute information. Please be as detailed as possible when filling out a dispute.

Talk about it - Length: 5 to 7 days

We ask that before you file a dispute, you attempt to talk it out with the other exchanging party. If you are unable to find a resolution within the 5 to 7-day timeframe, please proceed, and fill out a dispute thread.

When you file a dispute, a member of the administration or moderation team will help find a solution to the problem at hand. We will work and negotiate one of the following outcomes:

  • Completion: The exchange will be completed as agreed upon.
  • Cancelation: The exchange will be canceled, and any goods, incentives, money, etc will be refunded or returned in full (if applicable).
Both parties have a right to cancel an ongoing exchange or service if possible. However, when canceling an exchange or service, any goods, services, money, etc shall be refunded or returned in full with no exceptions (if applicable).

Past Due - Length: Until a resolution is found

If you have been unable to find a resolution to an exchange during the 5 to 7-day 'talk about it' period, we will step in and take action.

  • Exchanges with Dex: We will manually refund all Dex used for the exchange.
  • Posting exchange: If you are in a post for post exchange, we will transfer 1 Dex per reply not received, and 2 Dex per thread not received to make up for the posts you did not receive. All Dex credited to your account will be removed from the other party's account balance.
  • Cash or other exchanges: While we negotiate and find a resolution to an ongoing exchange, the party in question will lose permission to participate in any exchanges until the situation is resolved.

Standards and Expectations

We want all of our members to be completely satisfied with all member-to-member exchanges here at Index Forum. If a dispute does occur, we will work to make sure we find a resolution. If both parties respond to the dispute and come to a mutual conclusion, no disciplinary action will be given. However, there may be some occasions in which we need to moderate immediately to keep our community standards and expectations intact.

If a member is constantly being disputed and becomes untrustworthy, we may, at our discretion, give warnings, limit the member's forum functionalities, and whatever other means are necessary to ensure we keep our community standards and expectations intact.

No Scam Policy

If a member is found to intentionally not fulfill their end of an agreement, this is considered scamming. Due to the severity of the situation at hand, we will use our discretion to moderate and/or limit the member's forum functionality. If a member is found scamming a user on anything other than real money, we will suspend their account for a limited time, if a member is found to be scamming members of real money, their account will be permanently banned.

Thank you for reading our exchange policy. Let's work together to keep Index Forum a safe and friendly place to be! :)
