That's a very wise approach. One can do that if one feels that the person is approachable. Communication done in a right way sorts out many issues. So, good to give it a try if one feels that it would work. At least it would let the other person know that you are being negatively effeected by his behaviour. Maybe he will rectify that.

This may actually be a very good approach but sometimes people who are jealous will not stop being jealous irrespective of what happens. So ignoring them is a very good idea in my own perspective.

I have several enviou colleagues at work. From that reason I rare speak with them and others. When they say we will earn more, I aske them to take my work hours but they always refuse.

Ignorance is the best solution to an envious colleague. Always try to avoid him in most situations. Be accommodating his misdemeanor. Where official duties causes your confrontation, be as much persevere as possible to avoid situation that could lead to confrontation.
