I still see some shops in my country that sell CDs. But they don't do well because people don't buy them anymore. People nowadays have YouTube, Showmax and Boom play to listen to all the music they want.

There was a time when selling of musical CDs and movie CDs were in vogue. In that time, people that sold those CDs used to make so much money. In this days of YouTube and Netflix, is the business still moving in your country?
Some of them are still in existence but it is very rare to see them even though they are still in existence because we now have other ways to watch movies instead of buying disks

Well, at least here in Italy, the most sincere answer would be no, that market is now completely finished, among many causes, the advent of pay per view on demand. However I have to say that, such subscriptions as: Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sky, etc, in the end they are anything but cheap!

They are no longer in existence in this part of the world. A lot of people have moved on to Netflix, YouTube, Facebook and the law of others.

The business is no longer lucrative here. I think people are more into cable network and others now in the digital world where people have movies and songs on the go.
Same here, people would prefer downloading them or streaming them online. Personally i prefer downloading. But there are still stores who still sell these dvd around my location.

It seems to have become very rare, and I hardly ever see it again. Maybe this business is no longer run by people in my country. Because most people already use MP3 files and various other music player applications.

You are right people are always looking at downloading music or movies or even streaming them online than buying offline. so the business is gradually dying a natural death now adays.

There was a time when this business was as sure business. That is why businesses have to evolve as time and tech advances. CD business is as good as dead. DVD business is also gone.
I actually still know some people that are still in this kind of business right now in my country especially those that are still into the importation because they are still making good money from it.

Businesses evolve all the time especially when it comes to time and tech. This is the exact thing that happened to the CD business in my location and maybe my country

In Nigeria the business is almost going away as people are more about downloading whatever they want on their smart tv, laptop or phone. So using the internet is a lot better to me

We still have shops that sell Music CDs. These shops mostly sell to tourists. Local people are not much into buying Music CDs. However, foreigners frequently buy Music CDs, they buy as a souvenier.

Netflix and YouTube really killed the CD business. Throw in SD cards and mp3 players into the mix and the CD business was never going to make it a little bit longer.

Gone are the days where this type of shops are flocking the environment just about everywhere but the advent of video streaming platform has made them go to extinction .

That's true that was a thriving business in the 80's. I no longer see this kind of shops now. I only see music stores.
that sells musical instruments and gadgets.

A typical mobile phone offers more more storage capacity than a CD of any kind. And it comes with the advantage of not cracking. It is only natural for CDs and CD shops to go extinct.
