Do you think interns should be paid.

I have done internship in about two places I wasn't paid a dime. But I was doing a lot of the job. I believe interns should be paid since we do the job assigned to us too. What do you think?

In my country, offices pay their interns, but only for a private offices, but public offices, do not pay their interns.

Public offices do not pay interns because it should be part of the national service rendered by citizens to the country. In my country, they pay a one time payment of $25 to you years after you have completed your internship.

Everything depends on the financial capacity of the business or company where they are working and if it's something that they can be able to handle with paying their interns, I think they should do it.

It might not just be financial capacity of the organization. It can also be the willingness to pay. I have seen interns in government establishments who never got a dime.

I agree with you It sometimes about the willingness of the person involved to pay. some people might have the financial capacity to pay but they would not pay though

There would be not one correct answer to it. Many factors would count in and it depends on the company policy. Anyways, interns know that whether theu are going for paid internship or without pay. It's clear from the beginning and they are not duped into it. So, they have to set their expectations accordingly.

In my opinion, I think interns shouldn't be necessarily be paid but let them be given some incentives so that they can motivate them to work harder and cater for their basic needs in hostels cause life is very difficult in every corner.

I see many companies paying a little incentives for the interns. That's good enough to cover up their expenses like commutation to the work etc. Some even give gifts as a token of appreciation at the end of the internship period. These things are nice gesture and encouraging ones for interns. But the companies are under no obligation to do it.

If depends on the policy of the company. If I have an intern, I won't pay him or her. That's because he or she comes to learn the work from me.

Yeah itbdepends on the people in the company. An intern can still be given a little token for little bills it is not about paying them salaries just be kind

I feel they should be paid even if it is a little amount of money. It will just be like a means to show appreciation to them.
