Yes, very true. Some of the most successful businessmen and businesswomen are the most well known philanthropists in the world. A positive reputation with the society does help a lot to the business. It brings visibility to the business in a positive way.
Definitely, I always try to read the characteristics of successful people. That actually shows that a business that focuses on charity works usually succeed.
Here in our country, there are advertisements on TV and various platforms that promote CSR programs. There are certain well known brands that do charity for girls education and other noble causes. It's advertised that how every time we purchase their products, a small money from that purchase goes towards charity.
The only social responsibility that is required of a small businesses for them is to pay the taxes that they are supposed to pay and nothing more.
Yes, nobody really expects much from small businesses. So their responsibility is to pay their taxes but when they grow to an extent they can give back to The society.
Even if they are paying their taxes honestly, they are doing a great service to the society. Unfortunately, many of them are not honest about paying taxes and find loops and holes to evade it and don't honestly disclose their income. Paying tax in a honest way is the best service to society and nation that any business or individual can do.
Sometimes, the small business may be making huge profit than the so-called big businesses . It all depends on the kind of services you are dispensing.

Yeah, taxes is very important and necessary in every country because it helps the government facilitate some projects. That is why people should try as much as possible to pay.
You are right. One need not follow others on the wrong path. One needs to do their share honestly. Both husband and I are into white collar job and our every income is transparent. I am proud to say that we pay our taxes honestly
