Does your Job Combat Discrimination at Work?

My former workplace believed in meritocracy. Ethnic and tribal undertones are relegated to the background in recruitment of staff.
My previous job back then did not openly fight against discrimination, but at the same time there was a policy that allows anyone to apply for the job irrespective of age, gender, disabilities or not and even educational qualifications.
In my former workplace, there was a little bit of discrimination. I say that because most of the staff were from a particular denomination which the owner also belonged to.
When I was working full time, I didn't notice any discrimination in the workplace. While there is not a written policy to combat discrimination, employees trust the employer. Promotion and pay raise are mainly based on meritocracy.
Discrimination should be eliminated because it has psychological effect on workers.
I don't think there is such discrimination. In my working place, almost all employees are from the same tribe, there is nothing like discrimination. Though, some employees have bloated self ego which a reasonable person can ignore. I ignore such sentimental behavior.
My own workplace doesn't really combat discrimination though it is just very subtle. My boss believes that a woman cannot head the organization as she would not have what it takes.
This is something that is very common in most business establishment as well as companies in my country, and also including government Ministries as well.
I don't know how this practice has become ingrained that jobs are now given on other basis that is not related to competence. I believe that should be the major criteria for employing and promoting staff in any organization.
The working place is dominated by women. It sounds like a girl power. Personally speaking, I do not have a low opinion about being ruled by women at work. For the reason that I am into gender equality.
I don't have it to. Most time we work good and almost all are good looking. Only sometimes women complicate things to much or can't decide what they want. That is problem since it can affect on entire process.
At some point, some women are tickle-minded when it comes to having the final decision. It tends for them to be shaded with emotions that can affect the decision-making. I hope they can control this matter.
