I used to work in an office that you need to clock into a computerized machine. So if you are late you would have a deduction for that day.

Yes its the latest technology but thankfully we don't have that in our office LOL so somehow I am saved from the deduction

No, our office does not charge any penalty for being late to work. However, it is important to be punctual and to adhere to the office's policies and procedures.

Yes there is in my work place deduction is based on the per hour rate and according to the number of minutes or hours.

Well, there are jobs where one can not afford to be late. I am into one of those. I work in a school as special educator and counselor. I have to be in time for my one to one sessions with students or parents. I don't want that someone should keep waiting. Also, that's not a professional approach. I have a fixed timings for my sessions. I charge hourly rate and so it's not fair on my part to be late. I make sure that I reach early enough to relax and gather myself before I begin with my sessions. My performance and creativity is badly impacted if I am in rush.

I totally agree. As a teacher we bear a responsibility to pass on good values to next generation. And being late to work is definitely not a good value..I will keep preaching about punctuality and importance of time in the class. But my students would not care about those preaching lessons if they don't find me doing it myself.

When I am still working in my previous companies, they do give penalties for lates. In my opinion, it can be offset for the overtime work. It is a matter of being considerate.

When I was working for a company, we don't get charged penalty for coming to work late but we are going to be issued query for us to answer and make sure that it doesn't happen again.

Now a days, I see that more and more workplaces are being flexible with the timings. Unless the job demands you to be there on certain time,.most offices give you the flexibility..they just make sure that your log in and log out hours are within the set hours by the company.. They are giving more breathing space to the workers
