And there would be better opportunities to make more money. You would easily see a part time job to augment your income unlike the rural areas that lack opportunities and networking opportunities.

I believe that life is not all about money as the people you have in your cycle can bring you the money. I would prefer a place where I would be chanced to meet influential people that can rub off on me and they can't be found in cheap cities.
I would choose to have an expensive city with good pay, as opposed to having a cheap city and low pay.
The reason for my choice is that, with good pay, I would be able to enjoy the freedom of leaving the city. Conversely, the cheap city-low pay option would hinder my ability to move out and explore.

The most important thing is for someone to try as much as possible to live in a place where the cost of living is not going to be very high.
I think that it would depend on what you call as expensive. There are many cities like mine where inflation is high and many people do not earn that much. The city is expensive for a local resident, but it may not be that much expensive for a foreigner.
That's where management comes in. Even at the moment with the high inflation going on and the high cost of living, there are still so many people investing and as well making more money as well.
Well it is not a hard decision to make as for me I rather stay in shape City we are life is free and enjoyable and be paid low which will sustain me a lot than in a city where life is high in terms of cost of living and the payment is high also.
