Well I could start trying with some used item in the Marketplace section. If it should works, then just at that point MAYBE I might thinking about starting some sort of business.

I have never been a social media person. I find it too overwhelming and even distracting. But I guess we can't ignore the fact that it's the need of the hour to get your presence felt on social media platforms to promote any of your work or product. I should definitely do it soon. So far I have not needed it much and managed without it. I am planning to get started with my art and craft business and promote it there. So far, I have been getting orders through word of mouth through friends and family.
I have recently learnt that you can monetize your Facebook account. You can earn money in this way. However, I have no idea how you can monetize it. I only earn money from Facebook by promoting my products through it.
Well although I do not know the exact way to do it, I think it will depend largely as in all other social networks of the followers you have, surely after some brand could contact you to advertise their products there, remember that Facebook has more than 2 billion users on its platforms, so it is surely monetizable in the same way that other social media platforms are.

I was actually following one guy on Facebook who made me to understand that you need to grow your Facebook fan base or followers to that number before you will have any chance of making money from it and you can do that by doing some giveaway which is going to attract a lot of people to follow your account.
That is very true that you need some engaging activities if you are to see some serious increase in the followers base and this can be achieved by either having tasks or giveaways on your page but above all let the things you are sharing be highly valuable to the targetted audience.
The advantage of having so many people is that even from like 10k if you are reaching 100 quality clients then you are making a lot of wonderful progress. That means 400 people per month and if per client you are getting $50 times 400 then you are profitable or viable in whatever you are doing.
It is my first time to hear about monetizing Facebook. Where is the portal for that in Facebook? Facebook sends messages about updates but never have I received Facebook messaging me. I have so many activities on Facebook. I created societies.
Reading all these comments above has made one point clear that people are monetizing their Facebook pages and earning there. You need to have met certain criteria like a huge followers. Sorry, my question might sound silly. I have a Facebook account and it's a personal account. I don't see any follow option there. It's only friends list. I have around 500 plus. I guess followers would be for Facebook pages or business account.. The follower option would be there, right?? So, one can only monetize business account??
Facebook has become so uninteresting that I don't even have a Facebook account anymore. I heard my sister monetized her Facebook account but the pay rate is low.

I do know that you can monetize your Facebook through reels which is something I have been working on but it does take some time. In terms of monetizing in other ways, I am not sure how that is possible. I know that some people earn through affiliate marketing on Facebook which is a good way to earn but I am not sure about any other way through Facebook directly.
I am sorry, but I am not sure how to do it because I am not very active on Facebook. If I am not mistaken, you will need at least 10,000 followers. I came across it while doing some research.
Does your sister have a business account there? Even I am not much into Facebook or social media. I find spending time on forums more interesting and productive.
The payrates might be low to start with but it might increase with time. It's the case with most ways of online earnings. One has to be consistent and patient.
I am surprised with that. I think that would not be the case. People from other countries are a huge market for Facebook. They can not be biased in their approach. India is not a tier one country. And Facebook has a huge market in India. They can't ignore the huge market with this sort of biased approach.

There is a new tool on Facebook now which I think is called on Facebook business which allows you view the impression of what goes on with all your contents on the site. It gives a view of how the contents are to generate funds for you when they are monetized.
