How do you deal with customer that refuse to pay back ?

Some small business owners use credit facility to retain customers but some of them may refuse to pay back due to one reason or the other, how do you deal with that kind of people?

It depends on how much is the credit. If the credit is huge, I have to involve the police and other debt management companies . If it is small, I can forfeit the credit . This is one of the misfortunes in business

That is why I don't advise a small business to sell on credit because there is probability that they won't pay back. But if such happens, what I think can be done is to invite law to the matter

If arresting them can help them go ahead with it. but first always be careful with loan or credit sales

Of course, I would feel bad about it. We cannot control this situation but to impose a contract with the clients. In this way, you can file a formal case against them in court.

If a customer refuses to pay back for the goods and services rendered, it should be handled with some sense of responsibility and it should not be taken by force.

O would have an audience with the customer and he would fix his own day that he would be able to pay back. I won't mind giving him as long as he wants. If he can't pay back by that time, I might decide to involve the police.

Truth be told its very painful. Imagine you giving them on credit due to trust and in then end they refuse to pay back and are probably rude or even completely ignore you. It might make you not want to help anyone later on again.

Sometimes giving them more time can also help. it is not easy for some people after getting loans or goods on credit
You have to evaluate your capacitor carefully before seeking out loans and credit facilities. If you know you can't meet up, save yourself the stress and stay away.

in the first instance give loans to those that can pay . people are naturally bad with repayment so don't stres yourself giving them credit only on trust you might be disappointed

Even those that can pay still default on loans till you have to drag them. I don't know how people survive knowing that they are holding another person's source of livelihood down with their debts.

If a customer does not pay on time, I would call him/her to find out the reason. For record purposes, I would also send written reminders. If I still do not get paid, I would take the case to Small Claims Tribunal or the Court, depending on the amount of money owed.

In my country, taking it to tribunals like you said might end up putting you at disadvantage. They would ask the debtor to choose a repayment plan that he can stick to. And he can choose a repayment plan that is ridiculous and not favorable to you.

It is very important to deal with customers that refuse to pay and it also good that they should pay because of business growth
As a business person you shouldn't tolerate such customers because they will make your business to go down. That is why in your business you need to have rules and regulations.

The best way is to let that person sign a promissory note. It would also served as evidence in case failure to pay despite extensions. You can fille charges against the bad creditor.
