Peer-to-peer lending (P2P) is a relatively new type of investment that lets people lend money without going through a typical financial institution, directly to other people or small businesses. You must first select a P2P platform and register for an account before you can invest in P2P lending. The next step is to look through the available loans and select those that fit your investing requirements. You can invest as little as $25 once you've decided which loan to take out. A percentage of the interest earned will be paid to you as the borrower makes payments. Diversifying your investment across a number of loans will help to reduce risk, as will thoroughly assessing the borrower's creditworthiness prior to making an investment.

Is this kind of lending activity monitored by the government?. In my country all financial transactions even pawnshop operations are regulated by the Central Bank.

Peer-to-peer lending is a good way to make money from your capital but it is pivotal to give out loans to credit-worthy borrowers, if not you will lose your funds.

Peer-to-peer lending, or P2P lending, can be an attractive investment option for individuals looking for higher returns than traditional savings accounts or certificates of deposit. However, it's important to understand the risks associated with P2P lending and to do your due diligence before investing.

One of the benefits of P2P lending is the ability to invest small amounts of money, starting at just $25. This makes it accessible to a wide range of investors. However, it's important to remember that investing always comes with risk, and there is no guarantee that you will earn a return on your investment.

The OP talks about P2P lending but he does not even give examples of the platform where one can do P2P. I joined Lending Club to borrow money but I did not meet the eligibility criteria.

The peer to peer lending venture is somehow very risky. This is because the online thing is very much abused lately and you can easily loose your investments when you give loans to people and that would default to pay back.
