IBM is a big tech company; it has a hybrid working environment, but its CEO, Arvind Krishna, is criticising its work-from-home policy. 80% employees are working on hybrid model, company is progressing, back to work is only optional. But, Arvind Krishna has put a kind of pressure on the employees by declaring working from home an obstacle to their progress.

IBM is in better position to determine nature of works for its workers. If the management feels that work at home on their hybrid sections is not productive as it is expected to be it has every right to recall them back to work.
Expectedly, work at home cannot be effective as offline assignment. Some workers would abuse the system.

Well i am pretty sure he must have seen something to make him assume working form home is no longer effective. Every business is after results, if he sees that a particular section is not producing enough results, then it needs to be changed.
Some workers are not effective while working from home. Many workers could become effective when they are suoervised. IBM must have had cogent reasons before it decided to recall its workers back to office. Is it all the workers including management staffs that are recalled?.
I believe that there must be a reason that IBM's management is making this decision. May be it is their observation that employees are more productive and easier to communicate when working in an office environment.
Workers don't have any options than to resume back to work. Atleast, period of epidemic has come and gone. There is no need working at home if some of them are not effective and efficient. There are must be reasons why the IBM management decided to recall its workers back to office.
It is true that the IBM is a very big company and if they decide to employ the workers again there's nothing bad in it.
IBM is a big multinational company. It did not sack the workers before. I think it asked them to be working at Home as a result of covid19 epidemic. And now that the epidemic period is over, it asked them to resume back to office. Though that is my views. Any views contrary to this is well accepted. The management has every right to decide without consulting anybody.
I believe that as long as a company have offices where people are supposed to work, they should have those starts working in their office otherwise it is going to be a waste of resources.
Yes, it was because it didn't favor the company that was why it must had called them back. While at home, some of the staff would not be efficient and effective. They won't be committed to their work because they were at their comfort zone. This practice was not productive to IBM.
As long as it is something that is good for the business and will improve their chances of making more money there is something that the management will always be open to doing.
