We just found out when the new accountant was informed by BIR of the misfiling of our returns. I told the new accountant to get the details from the BIR so that the mayor can issue memo and see how the accountant will explain. It's really shameless and receiving grade 24 salary and rata. The said accountant also practices privately and doing it during government time of which I always call his attention.What shall be the sanction for that accountant? She better be fired for not doing her job. Why is that not seen by the auditing team? That's a shameless accountant receiving a decent salary but irresponsible.
He must pay for the penalty and other compromise pay and as to additional sanction thr chief executive must have the political will to punish him for negligence.It think that is normal office work irregularities. The management of the office would find a solution for this. Probably a suspension, a warning or any other penalty could be imposed upon the irresponsible person.
I agree, every company should have a policy to deal with the incompetent employees because they do leave a bad impression on other employees tooTo handle irresponsible worker, the company should issue serious warning and let him/her know the consequences. If there is no improvement, his/her employment should be terminated.
