Is it really possible to mine cryptocurrency with a phone?

I have been hearing a lot of buzz lately about people claiming they can mine cryptocurrency with just their phone. Is this really possible? Can you really earn a decent amount of coins by using just a smartphone? I've seen some apps that claim to allow mining, but I'm skeptical about the whole idea.

Is this a viable option for earning coins or just a myth?

I heard about those apps too but personally I would not waste my time with them. The amount of coins you can mine using just your phone is going to be so small that its not worth it and the energy consumption and wear and tear on your phone are just not worth it.

Yes with some apps such as Pi Coin, Omega, etc. However, they didn't reach the mainnet period yet. KYC is also needed.

You have a very valid point because pie coin is really good to consider when it has to do with mining on the phone because they do not consume the phone's battery in any form which is really encouraging.

Yeah. Been observing battery consumption, so far it's not bad. But how I wish the mainnet will come. The current Pi coin price we have now is not from Pi Core Team.

There are two different forms of mining. The first form of mining can not be done with phone. It can kill the phone very fast . Even Google warned that a smartphone cannot be able to mine cryptocurrency without damaging its core CPU. The other form of mining is cloud mining which in fact not mining per se.

Well the systems to extract cryptocurrencies via cell phone exist from what I have read. However in certain circumstances it's importyant to be CAREFUL, because some applications suitable for this purpose could lead to the melting and therefore to the breakdown of the mobile phone. So PAY ATTENTION!!

Bitcoin mining could destroy the phone but if it does not consume the hardware, like pi coin mining, it will not cause any damage to the phone.

i tried it once as I didn't know about it then and it almost destroy my phone. So one. need to be very careful when using phone to do any kind of mining

Not that I have much interest in doing this but, just to know which of these I should stay away from.

Yes, it is possible to mine cryptocurrency with a phone. I already tried it in the past. The only problem I faced was that the application made my phone too slow, so I had to uninstall the app.

This was the same experience I had which made me conclude that it might not be wise to mine with the phone my processor went very low afterwards. So it isn't good

Sometimes heard about Cryptotab, which would be a browser working on both PC and mobile device, which should extract cryptocurrencies simply by surfing the internet. But I've read a few reviews and realized it doesn't seem very profitable.

From what i have heard, mining crypto currency not really safe for smartphones, you will only end up damaging your smartphone over time. You can also make use of faucet sites as a means of earning free crypto currency though. Just yesterday i was able to withdraw #500 naira from a faucet site i am working on

I think all this rewards from browsers are just to lure people to use them there are not really good for use as their rewards are just minutes they don't amount to much

Yes, of course you can but you have to know what things this can entail on your phone, you could disable the hardware of your mobile in a short time of mining with it, if you are going to do it, it is better to use a device that you do not use.

I'm sorry my friend, I seem to have understood better to give up the mining through cell phone but better via faucets. Can you tell me in your opinion which is your faucet that you think is among best?
