Is working as a product designer profitable?

Some of my friends here work by making product designs or logos for a company. They serve orders from their clients and receive some money as payment. I see that this business seems very profitable, although it does require skill, mind-blowing, and high creativity. How about in your country, what do you think is this business also famous, profitable, and done by many people?

No aspect of tech that's not profitable or lucrative, it just depends on what you make out of it, how are you willing to put in the required work in order to standout and be a strong force to reckon with in order to be getting steady gigs.

Yes it is extremely lucrative and like you said, it does requires some level of skill to be able to make money form this, cause the competition is pretty tough here.

It could be as good chunk of money if you find someone who hires you to work on a team especially UX and UI and prototyping, depending in term of employees and projects in freelancing platforms.
