Kids and social media?

Over the last couple of years, it's been very clear that the social media is very capable of influencing both adult and kids either positively or negatively.
For me adults can be held responsible for their decisions and it's why I'm not a big fan of allowing kids jump into social media too early.

What are your thoughts on this?

I joined Facebook when I was 13 years old, but I was more responsible than others at my age. Kids being responsible? Well, that's hard to come by nowadays. With that being said, I assume it's okay for 13-year-olds to join social media, but it's not the best option for them. However, it's perfectly legal and certainly not preventable.

Definitely, it's legal but the issue is that the nature of what they consume on social media is worrying to the point where it's not safe the way I see it.

Yeah, their level of exploration is quite different from our time and it's something I dread so much. You can't stop because they get in contact with it at school.

The truth of the matter is that you can't censor social media.

Kids should not be allowed to use social media until they prove they are responsible enough, which happens later. Once a kid gets glued to social media it becomes a big problem. Kids don't know the difference between right and wrong, they are still learning and understanding a lot of things, once they see certain acts they mimic which never ends well.

I agree with you, they should be supervised regularly and you shouldn't give them too much freedom while they are using social media.

People want their kids to use social media and this is the worst trend I am looking at and hopefully people have some senses and stop doing that and allowing kids to use these only after they are of specific age

We must protect kids from social media and explain to them a few things.

We can protect and we will be successful but I see some of the parents that create account of their small kids and let them use after a few months and its not a good thing

Personally I believe that social media should come with a little bit of censor for kids because a lot of things that are being posted online to the on social media is becoming serious worries on how it affects children's thinking.

You are right there' should be parental guidance for children when it comes to social media.

In my humble opinion, kids need to be supervised when using them. Aside from that, we cannot let them experience it. The reason is that they will be left behind with this modernization.

People could take their photo and photoshop it and then require money to not post it on the social media so they need to be prudent to talk with strange there for example.
