If you either have the ability to purchase and store the furniture you wish to sell or even better, if you have the skills to custom make your own furniture it can be a really profitable business for sure. My Dad was a joiner and he used to make quite a bit of money through his own business building and making things for people who were willing to pay for custom made furniture.

I have a furniture store nearby and they have hired at least 10 people to work for them and are one of the best stores in the city
Jobs like carpenter, plumber, and electrician are always good, one can earn well from these jobs. You just need to promote yourself.

Second-hand furniture is not good if they are sold as it is, they need repair because no one is going to sell them if they are fine. But that's true people buy second-hand furniture because they are cheaper than fresh ones.
I agree, one has to have money to invest in this business otherwise it won't be a profitable business. I have a furniture market nearby, they all have manufacturing units and showrooms separately. That's how they have a good business.
Selling furniture may be lucrative if you are skilled carpenter that creates and produce furniture. If you are retailer that buys from carpenters, your profits may not be much. The business is better for carpenters who creates the furniture and then sell it.

I have at least 4-5 stores nearby and these are small stores but they are very good at their work and actually they prepare and sell but have another store nearby that only sell and its one of the biggest stores
A lot of people are starting their own families which makes it's something that is demanding for them to have their own home furniture. This is something which makes the business something that is always in demand.
