For instance, if you provide writing services, you will have to work on your projects every day, however, if you provide products, an ebook for example, you will be making money passively.

If you are selling service, you need to have special skills. If you sell physical products, you need to buy the products from suppliers or manufacture them . That involves costs.
you must not buy a product before you sell a product. There are people who promote affiliate products online and they make money from it.
whether passive or not passive, the most important thing is that you are making money. Secondly that we are doing what we love. There are some people that their job is passive but don't make money as those that their job is not passive.
Selling products must also be active such as operating an online store, buyers will come every day, we must actively shop for merchandise (merchandise inventory), warehouse storage, packing, delivery of goods to consumers via courier, while selling services means selling expertise, such as lawyers, consultants business, psychology etc.
If you sell services you need only your time to invest while when you sell products you will invest on buying them.
Doing the both of them simultaneously is good but selling of products will make you money passively and if you're selling a service you need to be active. That is why selling of products is better.
It depends on the products. What if your products need continuous production. That alone can be stressful. I prefer products though. It gives me a chance to put my excellence to use.

I personally think that providing products and services can be offered at the same time. There are some companies are hitting two birds at the same time to gain more profit and be known to have the share in the market.
For me I go by selling services. This is because selling of services seems to be more convenient to do than selling of products. There are reduced costs and easier to operate the service rendering business than selling of tangible goods.
