Should employees be allowed to smoke?

Most companies or businesses I have come across, smoking within working hours is not permitted, and an employee can easily loose their job if caught. I have also come across a few companies that have smoking areas. Meaning employees are allowed to smoke but only on specific areas, what's your take on this, do think it's okay for employees to smoke during work hours or not.

It is not ok, to allow employee to smoke during working hours. But unfortunately here in my city there are so many offices where bosses smoke during working hours. So if the management people smoke then what could be the situation, it can be better understand by us.

I do not smoke, therefore, I do not allow people to smoke in the workplace. However, I do understand the necessity of smoking for some people, therefore, I set a corner in the workplace where people can smoke.

It all depends on the management if allow employees to smoke in the working place, but here in my country, no employees are allowed to smoke. They will pose danger like fire. It's also very unethical.

l think that the employees should not be allowed to smoke in the workplace. What should be done to them is be allowed to go out to smoke at the smoking zones.

I do not smoke. And I am against allowing employees to smoke in office. If the employee really like to smoke, s(he) should go outside to smoke during break time.

It's very unethical to smoke at work. It poses danger to everyone's health. I think it's against the policy of the business. They can smoke outside the work place not even in the toilet.

I think it would be inappropriate to smoke within the workplace. This is not really safe as it could cause fire incident if they are not handled appropriately..

I think there should be some smoking zones in the workplaces for that reason. The company should respect every person.

There's nothing wrong with an employee taking a smoke break, but they shouldn't be given more (or less) breaks because of it. You'll see people that have to step outside hourly to smoke, and that's not fair to non-smokers.

I really amazed by the American society and how it is structured. No one is given a smoke break at work in my country for any reason.

If the employee works in a muti-national company like the Del Monet Philippines, Incorporated in the Philippines, it is 100 percent, no smocking in all areas, it is dangerous for a canning plant.

Most large companies have a smoking area, where the employees who wish to smoke can do so, even during office hours.

Here, at my workplace only staff is allowed to smoke in the smoking zone , workers are not allowed.

I think it is given that employees should not smoke during the working hours. It is best if they do this during their breaktime.

NO SMOKING is seen on screen of the businesses, offices and companies. it is restricted to smoke on these places.

But why do people smoke, I don't smoke and I don't think I will ever so I would not allow people to smoke in the workplace. That's just me though

Most companies have the policy that no one smoke during the work time. But during leisure or break time, anyone could use those times to smoke..

It is not appropriate to permit employees to smoke during work hours. Some companies allow smoking during break times in designated smoking areas.

Even if they are allowed to smoke it should be outside of the office and not during official hours
