Should junk food be banned in schools?

Absolutely. These junk foods must not be sold in schools and within a few meters outside school campus. When I was a kid we don't have junk foods in school. We eat boiled bananas or hotcake.I was already 13 year old when I tasted chips.

In Croatia schools kid got free healthy food every day. Guess what? Most food goes in trash since they don't eat it . They still buy chips and energy drinks.

Rather than banning junk food in school I think the parents have to understand that what their children eat is essential to their health even if junk food is banned in schools the children will still have access to it

Yes, it should be banned as lots of kids suffer from diseases from eating junk food. We cannot control our kids as we don't see then what they do in school but we can stop selling them in the schools.

But the reality is that it cannot be banned because the poor vendors earn a lot of money from the institutions and if they are not allowed to sell It near the vicinity of schools or colleges, they won't be able to earn.

I feel like even if you ban junk food it won't stop the kids from eating junk food. But it will definatly leave sellers with empty pockets.

I am someone who feels that junk food should be available but monitored in schools. I remember when my kids first started high school, they were able to get things like pizza boxes which were a slice of pizza with a drink and a pudding and they were also able to get things like bacon bagels as well. This was stopped because they said it was too unhealthy but at the same time, the kids had that option every day, it wasn't as a treat say on a Friday you could have a pizza box on a Monday you could have a bacon bagel. I feel as long as it is monitored it should be fine in moderation as well as offering healthy options.

I don't think it will be wise if it gets to be banned, because people can always run to it just to hold appetite while waiting for the normal meal to be ready.

I agree in principle junk foods should be banned in schools. But it is rather difficult to implement. How do you define junk food? Fast foods or snacks like potato chips?
