Is it impossible to have a successful career and a happy family life? If it is, should you have to choose one or the other? If not, what can we all do to make sure that having a career, doesn't override having a good happy family life?

I can say I have a successful career and I can also say I have a happy family. My family is my brother and his wife. I am an old maid so I have no family of my own. Maybe this could be the reason why I don't have to choose career and family. I can have both without sacrificing one. I have co workers who are happily married with kids and they are also doing good in their career.
What you need is to strike a balance. I know things are difficult and money needs to be made. I still use one hour to cook for my family and this has a big impact on the happiness of the family.
What defines a successful person is the ability to manager your life and all the facets of it work efficiently. Family life is also important to balance out as a bus person .
Both are essential. Having a happy family life may help a person to perform well in his/her job. If you are constantly stressed out by family problems, that may affect your mental well being and your business life.
It is possible to successful and at the same time enjoy a wonderful family life. Am a witness, am successful and have wonderful family. I can not see am financial stable but I can afford to feed myself and my family. To me that is the real success.
I believe that the nature of someone's work is always going to determine how often one's going to have time for his family and it's going to determine how happy all of them. Some jobs takes away spending quality time with your family and it's why business gives you a better chance.

There are some jobs that will not allow you the opportunity to spend quality time with your family especially if you are working in the banking sector with the way they operate in my country.
Yes, that is why I said it is important to have an understanding partner. If the spouse understands the nature of the other person's work and he or she is cool with it and the children then they will all be happy
The truth is that one would have to go for the other. But you should not completely abandon the foregone option. Work usually is prioritized over family. To get a happy family doesn't mean you should leave your work, just give it a flash of attention and everything is balanced
Yes it is very possible and i personally do not think it is right for you to have to choose between both. As humans you have every right to have the best in life, which includes success in your career and as well a happy family.
