As a business, a ptp forum should generate revenue that's more than it's expenses. The pay should be good to attract new and keep existing members and preferably, the owner should have another source of income in the first few years.

That's why the owners have to find creative ways to monetize the site. In Bizdustry, they have completely commercialized the site. You can't even withdraw your earnings without buying a VIP membership.

The sustainability of paid to post forums depends on their revenue. Their revenue depends on traffic so they should work on making members active on their platform and get a high conversion rate.

One thing for them to maintain paying there members is that after they are monetizing it they should not pay members more than they are earning on the website or else there won't be enough money to pay members

Admins need to use models that will help them to maintain paying the members by monetizing the site with companies and they don't need to pay members more than they are earning

This is a tough one as we know from those sites that have either stopped paying incentives for activity or even those that ended up closing down as well, it's not easy to keep a pay-to-post site up and running.

Having a site that is monetized and brings in quite a lot with the traffic and activity that it gets is one way to help keep a pay-to-post forum afloat, however, we know that traffic can take a dip sometimes and that can result in loss of income on the site which the results in not being able to pay an incentive.

I feel at the moment at least, someone who chooses to run a pay-to-post site would have to have money available before monetization to be able to keep the site afloat. Going in and creating a pay-to-post forum is not something someone could do not I don't feel without making an investment themselves to help the forum long term.
