Why did you start your own business?

Most of us here are entrepreneurs or business owners, what motivated you to startup your own business? For me it was due to the fact that i wanted to be financially stable, and to do that i needed to setup something for myself. Working under someone would not help me achieve what i needed to achieve. What's your reason for starting up your business?

I have a little business in my hometown and I could say that it gives me some extra income aside from my work, I decided to make my own business because I don't want to be an employee in my entire life. I want to have more earnings without a boss around me.
