Why do survey websites ask for number of children in household?

I have noticed that for most survey websites, they are asking for the number of children in the household and those who do not have children are often disqualified. What is the reason why the survey websites are asking for the number of children?

To be honest, neither do I. However, it is possible that they are requesting the number of children for reference. There are surveys that parents or children must complete. That is simply my wild guess.

I really don't know why they ask that too. And it is so common in all surveys, you get disqualified if you don't have children. My wild guess is that they probably think that when you have children, you are responsible and making an income to support them. It could also be that having children makes you purchase some of the items they are researching about.

hmm well that is wierd I think they want to know how many kids peaple prefer to have or have pehaps maybe it is because they want to know your country birth rate I do not know why for sure but yeah this is common

I think they are asking that because they are researchers. They want to get perhaps a partial population. They also need it because of business. They may sell to your area thru other sites stuff for kids,

Yes, they may be hired for selling products for large families. People without children will spend less and may not be target customers for company which has hired the researcher for a survey.

I actually don't know the reason, but I suspect that surveys sometimes target people who have children to find out what they need for their children. For example, a survey regarding product brands for babies and children, to find out how interested people are in a product.

I think survey providers ask the number of children a user have is to filter the survey that they are going to give us, some surveys are only for peoples who have children and some are for those who don't have any child.

I also don't know why they ask this question one guess is, it could be possible as they wanted to know the average number of children worldwide. As majority of people have 4 children or 2 or any other figure.
