Why most companies do not allow remote working.

Most companies don't like them because it very challenging in managing the folks that work remotely in deed. The draw backs in terms of the business are very many compared to the benefits for the company

It can be security reasons. To many workers leave computer unprotected or allow others users to use it. Kids can install malicious software on company computers and it will steal data.

One of the reasons for that may be to provide effective communication among member of staff especially when the type of job requires member to work together which may be ineffective when work is done from home and not the office.

Some company don't allow remote connection to their servers. Hackers can reach login data and access to server without breaking firewall and nobody will notice they sniff data from server.

It has become pretty common these days to find workers who work for a particular company or organization to work form home, but there are still lots of companies who do not allow this. One major reason for this is the high level of distraction. Does working from home can easily get distracted by one thing or the other, the there is the issue of lost of time work life balance.

It depends on the line of business one is into. Sales work, telemarketing work can be done anywhere but the only setback is there could be distractions at home that one cannot focus on its job. The home atmosphere is conducive to relaxing so one may end up sleeping and relaxing the whole time and productivity is affected.

Some companies and even their employees prefer to work from office as they don't feel productive working from home due to many reasons or they should opt for a hybrid model

Distractions is the biggest issue with working from home. Especially if you have young kids running around the house. Another thing that can make a company to deny remote work is the case of people living in rural areas. They will be struggling with getting a strong internet connection.

I think it is too early to conclude that most companies do not allow remote working. I believe, more companies are asking their employees to work from home. THis reduces workloads for the companies.

Most of the time it's because they are scared that they won't work as much since they would have more distractions around some companies allow remote working but not all for sure

Because most people aren't honest about their working hours. For example, they say they have worked 9-10 hours, but they have gone to the bathroom and etc, to have a drink. It's of course, convenient for the employees, but not so profitable for the employer, because they might abuse of that freedom and power given to them.
