When you want to correct a customer, be sure that you are very tactical about it, unless it could escalate. I would better avoid correcting a customer completely.

It's best to talk with that customer privately to avoid putting him or her in shame. She must know that the actions he or she performs is against the business etiquette.

I agree on addressing the issue in a private setting. The customer will more likely to be receptive to feedback and less likely to feel embarrassed or defensive.
