I would definitely prefer buying offline than online. This way, I can see and touch the texture and the quality of the item.

Yes, even me, but there are ladies who familiarized the quality and brand of the umbrellas. They won't hesitate to buy. I also bought an umbrella online and it is good. It has UV protection. The price is higher than in offline price.
Which brand do you buy? I don't buy the expensive one in the mall. I bought Fibrella before. It last but the umbrella got lost. So Now my umbrella was from the sidewalk vendor I bought in Divi. And got destroyed after 2 years. I bought another with the same quality. It is good one but cheaper.

I buy umbrellas at UNITOP, their umbrellas are durable. They are made in China. Their store is so big, mall size. I do not memorize the brand.
This business can be profitable in those locations that are rainy.
There are many regions on earth that receive a lots of rainfall. I think that umbrellas are quite popular in those regions.
Probably, everybody needs umbrella. Even people that have small shops also make use of umbrella.

That's also what I observed here. Even kids have their own kiddy umbrella, branded Kitty.
it is like a necessary evil. i don't like to carry it around too but have no option for now

Yes because that's the nature of humans, the same feelings, the same thinkings.
Probably, human behaviour is the same thing in almost every part of the world. Even people in developed countries behave similar ways.
These days I see many use umbrella during sunny weather and it does get so hot and sunny during Summers.
You can do that you just need to buy the portable ones and you are good to goYes one usually wishes it's around whenever it's raining heavy. Maybe I'll learn to be carrying one around who knows
