Well, it can be a passive income source only when you have worked for years actively to build your video library and views on your videos

For artists that have many songs, YouTube is surely a passive income stream. Even dead artists are still earning from YouTube channels.

You not only need to upload videos regularly but you may also need to market your channel regularly as well. Otherwise, you will never receive views and subscribers on your channel.

Sometimes it is very hard for me to consider YouTube as a passive income source because you will need to constantly publish videos so that you will not lose your client or your audience. It really needs lots of commitments.
