A school is a business like every other organizations where someone puts money in. The problem now arises whether schools should seriously pursue profits. One thing is sure, if a school pursues profits very much, it would drop value and standard. And this defeats the purpose of the school.

How can a school balance being a business and offering highest value.

Schools must maintain their standards and keep a good value. Our government gives subsidy to schools so there is no reason for them to strive on increasing their earnings because it's being offered by the government. Actually schools here are becoming profitable because of this scheme. On the part of the government it's more economical to grant subsidies than building infrastructure for school facilities. Because of the free college education in my country private schools went on the losing side so the government provided support by subsidizing the school by paying the student's tuition directly to the school. It's now the responsibility of the school to get a high rating so that they can attract enrollees.

Profit-making is something that is always a constant in any kind of business but when it comes to running a school as a project, you will definitely have to offer value before you will get a lot of parents to be interested in making use of your services before you start making profit.

That's absolutely correct. No parent will send their children to an institution which is not reputable. Companies also prefer to hire graduates of reputable schools. It's should be the priority concern of school administrators to level up their. institutions and at par with the best schools in their community.

They can do both. If they are private schools, they need to ensure good equality education for the students. They are asking for high tuition fees. Then, they need to provide the best ones for them.

I think for the private schools they must produce the best quality of education first. Most parents would like their children to get the best quality of education iregardless of the school fees being charged.

Private school I think does makes profit however it's much harder to manage private school than public since you need to make sure that the kids feel safe and learn

Here, except international schools, most schools are subsidized by government. Schools must offer quality education just like businesses should sell quality products and services. No parents will send their children to schools with bad reputation.

Of course, every serious minded school should always chase value, with value in your arsenal, you're sure of amassing massive profit, but you have to be patient enough as it might not come speedily as expected.

One thing I have come to discover about school business is that when it is up to standard, one can charge any amount and people would strive to pay because of the value on offer. Value over profits as a priority for a school business.

It is the duty of a parent to look out for their kids and make sure that they are giving the best knowledge which is why it is very important to make sure that if you are running a school that you offer something more valuable than looking to make profit first.

The problem is when education has been watered down to a point that people are now looking for affordability than quality. Some schools should not even exist at all. But they do regardless.

Education is the best investment a parent can give their children.. Good schools are of course preferred by the parents and later on the students themselves will decide what school they want.

I know of some parents that would withdraw a child from a good school to a lesser school because they don't have money to pay. That's where all these mushroom schools thrive.

Yes that's a reality. As long as the child can finish school they're not into quality... Most schools that are good have higher fers.

Some schools in my country are just after profits. They don't care if the school is delivering quality. One way to know is when the relatives of the proprietor are attending other schools

Proper motives should be ensured before giving people licenses to operate some kind of businesses. Some businesses require more than profit goal to run them and school is one of them.

The truth of the matter is that in most cases, both actually work together. If your potential customers do not see value in what they get from you, they would simply tru another place.
