This is something that's now becoming a reality with most businesses. There's no stopping it now as far as I can tell.

You're so right in fact it's not only robots that replaced humans, there is also introduction to the world the Artificial intelligence which most businesses rely letting their brains malfunction. If you want to create a business that is operational 24 hours, or more than 12 hours, you need staff to work on shifts as you cannot ask anyone to work for you for 12 hours or 24 hours.

I agree with you but I have seen private schools that teachers leave for work at 6am and close by 5pm That is a whooping 11 hours. That is exploitative. I think the max time someone should stay at a job should be 8 hours a day.

They also get lunch breaks and snack breaks, right? So, it a teacher has to be present in a school from 6 am to 5 pm, they are not working 11 hours, and they also get breaks, so they might be working just 8-9 hours.

Shifting system is a very important working aspect in the companies. It gives the sense of flexibility on the workplace amongst workers. This can lead one to work on other side hustles.

I have been a teacher myself and lunch breaks last a maximum of 20 minutes and maximum of two breaks in a typical school day. It is still a tasking workload and schedule in my opinion.

In my place, jobs like pharmacy jobs are run on shifts. It does more good to have a shift system because burnt out staff can never deliver the best output. I have never worked a shift job though.

Yes to some extent it is usually effective, this would prevent the workers from over working themselves, since they do not work all round, there is always someone to replace them.

Shift system is necessary only in multinational companies where orders worldwide are nonstop like Del Monte Philippines Incorporated. It has a first shift, second shift and night shift. It is a multinational company with 300, 000 employees.

The only time when it may not be effective is when the people who work at night cannot cope with night work because some people do not work at night very well
