The government have their tie-ups with most businesses and likes to help them by keeping the minimum wages low and even if they are high those companies pay less and cover everything and never get caught

Pls let's not talk about the minimum wages in my country. Nigeria has remains of the countries that its workforce is poorly paid. No government has ever redress this palaver.

That is honestly insanely low to me.

I believe the minimum wage here is $15.50 an hour. That averages out to $2,686.66 a month and that doesn't include premium pays such as stat days, holidays, and overtime pay.
Even that I find to be really low and would find to be difficult to live off of.

For USD Conversion at the time of writing, that's $11.39 an hour. (Miss the days where CAD equaled the US Dollar)
This is why you find a lot of Nigerians in other countries simply because they want to make ends meet. There are so many of my friends and foreign countries that are working there to make good money

Minimum Wage in the US is $15 per hour, but employers need to pay more than that to obtain employees that can do the job in a lit of cases. That's $600 a week or $2,580 a month. That's more than we get paid on Social Security and it meets our basic needs, so I don't think it needs to be raised. If anything, workers need to have ways to get trained to earn more and not depend on a government handout for their entire lives.

That's very upsetting. The government of any country should take up such issues. Maybe the economy of the nation decides it, I am not sure though.
The annoying part of it is that the government don't care about the lives of the Citizens. This is why you hear so many bad things about Nigerians because they are trying to make money by every means

In my country, minimum wages depend on what place you are living in or working. If they are working in big cities, it is expected that the wage rate is higher.

The minimum wage in my country is quite poor we are believing that the incoming government will review this and make it a lot better for people
I wonder why everyone is complaining about its government handling on minimum salary issue. Imagine average workers in Nigeria are earning daily income of less than $1 which is very bad in this hard economy.
